Neil Ward, Director of the Centre for Rural Economy, University of Newcastle, will chair a discussion about the evidence of rural economies and their contributions to northern growth.

"The Northern Way"

Andy Tordoff, Head of Rural Renaissance and Tourism at Yorkshire Forward will profile the northern response to the ODPM’s ambitions, as developed through pan-Regional co-operation between the three Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) and a Northern Way Task Force.

A likely Way Forward?

Neil Ward will facilitate a discussion between the audience and the panel of speakers about the proposals for the Northern Way. This will conclude with some key actions to feed into the consultation exercise led by the RDAs and the Northern Way Task Force.
